Information & Resources

Locating information on resources and services can be challenging, but we are here to help!

If you contact Family Empowerment, whether in person, or by phone or email, we will discuss your current information needs and assist you in locating resources both at the local level as well as resources within the state and beyond.

We can provide guidance in dealing with the different service systems you could encounter across the lifespan:

  • Information and resource guidance

  • Individualized guidance for families eligible for Department of Developmental Services to help navigate the maze of service options

  • Virtual webinars and in-person workshops on a range of relevant topics

  • Family activities for those connected to the center through DDS

  • Multimedia resource library featuring a wide variety of special needs topics

  • Contacts at local and state networks for general and disability-specific information

  • Other funding resources for programs or services

  • Local and state events posted in our newsletter, email updates, and Facebook page

  • Obtaining health insurance for medical-related needs

  • Financial assistance for disability-specific or basic living needs

  • Services specific to a certain issue

  • Services for children and adults
